Web feet for the season

Waterlogged!!!!!
Here in the DC metro area we have endured a wet spring with probably 15 inches of rain since May 1. What is usually a very pleasant season, Spring passed by in a humid haze of moisture with every dry, sunny day treated a as a treasure, a gift from the gods.

This past Sunday was one of those days, clear blue sky after days of storms and rain. I was just preparing to leave for work and I noticed odd sounds coming from outside. My husband, Rodger had already started investigating, leaving the house out to the driveway. A large oak had just fallen. In the news I hear of trees falling over all year/all seasons in this area and in our neighborhood, I just had not seen the mess.

In this case, luckily no one was hurt and the power was restored, up and running later that day and short of some repairs yet to be completed on the lines, the debris has be taken away. And the neighbors living in that white house, away during those 2 days and missed it all (tree just missed their parked cars). Enclosed- tree down photos, this is what it looked liked. I like the double cherry pick.

Keep dry!
