BLUE BAMBOO/BLUE BREEZE

Greetings from Bethesda,
In an effort to update, stay updated and in general, keep in touch, I started this blog. I will make an effort to stay current, post old and new art work and promise to answer if you request a reply. [Bear in mind I truely hate to type and prefer working in my studio to sitting at the computer!]
That being said, I am already more than two weeks behind on this 1st post!
Quilt National '09 opened at the Dairy Barn Art Center in Athens, OH on Fri. May 22, 2009. I was able to attend the opening in the company of my husband, Rodger and a special treat, my parents. They drove from Cincinnati, OH to joined us for the opening and banquet and while my father was less thwn amused after his look at the art my mother had great fun collecting signatures from the artist in her QN'09 catalog. This was the first QN exhibition for all three and I believe they enjoyed the experience.
This is the 16th biennial, interntional, juried exhibition which started 30 years in 1979 with its first group of art quilts. Juried by Sue Benner, Katie Pasquini Masopust and Ned Wert 85 works were selected. [visit www.quiltnational.com for more info]
I received a Juror's Award of Merit for my piece BLUE BAMBOO/BLUE BREEZE
